In anticipation for the One Year Anniversary of our Emmerich story, *Aniua and I are holding an art contest!!!!!

The Concept:
Dr. Rolf Emmerich began to study those with unique abilities in the early 1900's in hopes to one day be able to build superhumans. Since then, his dream has evolved to a corrupt multimillion dollar corporation. The test subjects are formed from various 'donors' and have lived lives to eventually become weapons. The beings created undergo experiments and training to the point where only a handful survive their teen years. The beings are divided to levels based on their potential, 1 being the lowest, non-physically harming, 9 being the highest potential with physical harm as a possibility. That level along with a serial number is marked on their arms as an identification code. They are nameless. For the first time in Emmerich Centre history, an 'incident' occurred that resulted in the escape of seven, (Alex, Mercedes, Ophelia, and Vilen primary among them.) Once they escaped, they adopt names and try to get along, despite differences to stay together so they can live outside of white walls.

The Characters:
Name: Alexander Trippoli
Nickname: Alex
Alias': AT982
Age: 21
Hair: Dark brown
Eyes: Dark green
Skin: Olive-tan (Italian skintones)
Personality: Reliable, defensive, protective, aggressive. He is more sensible, though he can be irrational when Ophelia's safety is concerned. Not much of one to show emotion, he has his own way of dealing with things. Rather skeptical by nature and more philosophical and thought-oriented.
Special Abilities: Can feel the presences of others. Raising and animating the dead.




Name: Ophelia Everett
Alias': OE972
Age: 19-20
Race: European
Hair: straight and very fair blonde
Eyes: ice blue
Skin: pale
Personality: Not necessarily nasty or mean, but not overly caring. She comes off as cold as a first instinct, and she's mature and a solid person. She cares about Alex, however, after being with him for so long. She's changed a lot in her time away from Emmerich and ha taken on more of a care-giving role, especially where Alex is concerned. Many traumas have left her with a bit of a useless feeling.
Special Abilities: She can manipulate water, whether through an external source, or the water inside of her own body.






Name: Mercedes Estavez
Alias: MG-926
Age:18
Hair: brown
Eyes: Green
Skin: tanned (She's Mexican.)

Personality: Moody. Her personality changes a lot depending on various factors. She's vengeful and sadistic at times, but sweet and helpless in others. Usually, however, she does have some scheme going on in the back of her head so theres an ulterior motive for most of her actions. She spends a lot of time being forceful, authoritative and upset. After this period of a storm, she spend a period in a calm where she's quite the opposite. She's interested in medicine and drugs, so she's become something of a chemist.

Special Abilities: Not clear, either because she doesn't know or because she doesn't say. It's been observed that she can disappear and reappear elsewhere in a short distance, though this would only make her level 1, and her serial number marks her as a level 9. She gets her nourishment from places other then food or drink and she is allergic to sunlight.

Hair: Dark Brown

Personality: He is manipulative. He easily adapts to situations and can be very likable when he wants to be. Overprotective in strange ways. His aggression often is vented in the form of sadism. He is clever, somewhat creepy, but never lazy. Can be seen as heartless at times. Creepy fellow. He is considerate though, and wants many babies.

Special Abilities: Has ultra cognitive abilities. He can often hear the thought patterns of those around him and influence the way their brain works through various hormones and natural chemicals. Uses this to track people.

The Categories:



Best Pairing: Self explanatory. Do a couple based picture. Alex/Ophelia and Mercedes/Vilen are the standards. Het, Yaoi and yuri are accepted

Best Individual Illustration: Alex or Ophelia Again, self explanatory. This is the category in which pictures of a single character of *JessieRaye’s will be judged.

Best Individual Illustration: Vilen or Mercedes Again, self explanatory. This is the category in which pictures of a single character of *Aniua’s will be judged.



The Rules and Way Things Work:
All submissions must be created by the individual entrant.
Please mention the contest in the submission so we can spread the word about the contest.
Submission thumbnails will be put in both *JessieRaye and *Aniua's journals as they are received.
Please have all submissions noted to either *Aniua and *JessieRaye in order to assure we both have them for judging.
You may submit in more than one category, but may only win once in order to make the contest fair to all entrants. Just remember common courtesy, guys, we're all a part of the awesome deviantART Community!
No leaving nasty remarks on other entrants submissions or via this journal.
Submission rules and guidelines required by deviantART should also be followed.
The Rules section is subject to change as a need arises, and should be abided by for all entrants.

Judging:
*Aniua and *JessieRaye, along with the possible assistance of non-entrant friends will choose the winners.
Judging will be done within a week or two of the contest deadline.

The PRIZES:

Each category will win a 3 month sub, and an art request from one of us.
